Our Horses:
Every summer we have a herd of some 120 to 160 horses.
Some of them will be all summer long on multy day tours while others will partly be on such tours or at home and go on the day tours. So thou your wishes, experience or technique might be different from person to person, everyone should be able to find what they are looking for.

I. Saltvík Easy
One hour riding tour in the beautiful surroundings of Saltvík Horse Centre with a view over the bay of Skjálfandi. We take it easy so this tour is perfect for beginners.

II. The Seaside tour
Two hours tour. The most popular ride last summer. This tour gives you a good taste of the Icelandic horse as a magnificent riding horse when we ride towards the shore and then up to the hills above the farm. Riding “tölt” the specific gate which this horse is so famous for is a lifetime experience.

III. Horses and whales (2+3 hours)
Explore the countryside on an Icelandic horse and discover the magical gentle giants of the ocean by combining riding tour from Saltvík farm and a whalewhatching trip from Húsavík, the whale whatching capital of the north.

IV. Tailor made Day tours
Longer day tours can be arranged upon request.
